Manual Handling Key Trainer course

Manual Handling training for in-house trainers

This training course has been developed for staff members with responsibility for delivering in-house manual handling training, complying with the All Wales Manual Handling Training and Passport Information Scheme (Modules A-F).

The training will enable attendees to devise a training programme, train, and assess others in both the practical and theoretical elements of manual handling. Poor manual handling is one of the top reasons for employees missing work due to injuries. The training focuses on ensuring that attendees have the knowledge and skills to deliver manual handling to co-workers and other staff members.

Topics covered:

  • Correct lifting methods
  • Anatomy of the spine
  • Manual handling risk assessment
  • Preventing injury
  • Developing a manual handling training course (Modules A to F of the All Wales Passport)

The course includes practical exercises and demonstrations and requires an element of physical activity. We may ask for copies of workplace manual handling risk assessments, if available, for established businesses.

Attendees will be provided with course materials to deliver their own training courses. The course is certificated by RT Safety Training.

Attendees are responsible for ensuring that their knowledge and skills are updated on a regular basis and RT Safety Training recommends that all continuing professional development is recorded, to ensure future competency and safety.
