First Aid at Work Requalification course

Requalify as a First Aider

This 2-day course is for nominated first aiders who need to requalify in First Aid at Work.
To attend this course, the learner must have a current First Aid at Work certificate (or have a certificate that has expired for no more than 28 days at the start of the course**)

What is covered on a First Aid at Work course?

Over two days, candidates will receive in-depth training, providing the skills to deal with first aid emergencies.
Topics covered include;

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Legislation
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Use of an AED
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Head Injuries
  • Shock (including anaphylaxis)
  • Poisons
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart Attack
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Sprains, strains and dislocations
  • Fractures
  • Eye Injuries

The course is delivered in a classroom environment and requires an element of physical activity. Completion of the course is subject to continuous assessment of competency and a written test. Successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. **Note that expired certificates mean that the learner cannot carry out first aid until they have requalified
