The Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work qualification is for first aiders requiring comprehensive first aid training.
This course is particularly suitable for businesses with higher numbers of employees or a higher level of risk associated with the workplace.

What is covered on a First Aid at Work course?

Over three days, candidates will receive in-depth training, providing the skills to deal with first aid emergencies.

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Legislation
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Use of an AED
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Head Injuries
  • Shock (including anaphylaxis)
  • Poisons
  • Diabetes
  • Epilepsy
  • Heart Attack
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Sprains, strains and dislocations
  • Fractures
  • Eye Injuries

The course is delivered in a classroom environment and requires an element of physical activity. Completion of the course is subject to continuous assessment of competency, plus a written test.
Successful candidates will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years.
